Incidents

2006 Accident

At around 2:08 p.m. of 2 December 2006, a man was hit by a southbound train. He was pronounced dead later, at around 2:40 p.m. In February 2007 a leaked CCTV footage of the incident along with another at Yishun MRT Station began circulating on the Internet, with the man in question jumping in front of the approaching train[1], leading to suggestions that it was a case of suicide.[1]

2012 train disruption

Trains on the North-South Line were delayed up to nine minutes at 7.45 am on Jan 2 2012 due to a glitch.

Passengers who were travelling in the direction of Marina Bay Station from Jurong East Station had to alight at Admiralty Station. The spokesman said the error caused trains to be delayed by nine minutes. To reduce passengers' waiting time, the train operator dispatched an additional train. [2], [2]

Platform Screen Doors

As with most of the above-ground stations built in the past along the North South Line, it was initially built without Platform Screen Doors that prevent commuters from falling onto the train tracks. The installation of the doors began on 2 October 2011. On 22 December 2011, the platform screen doors began operations with Marsiling.
